This is a collection of some occasional musings by Charlie Wood. Here you will find prose and poetry, sadness and joy, observations simple and deep, nonsense and delicacy, hills and valleys.
This isn’t everything…there’s much more and a book is currently in the works and another is in the queue. It’s all a work in progress and things are changed, added and removed according to time-honored whims.

Writer, musician, ocean sailor and autodidact, Charlie currently splits his time between Portland and the San Francisco Bay Area. Born and raised in San Francisco, Charlie has had the good fortune to travel the world, often on a sailboat. He has worn many hats during his lifetime and believes that, despite the notion that one cannot be good at many things, one can indeed master a wide variety of skills with little more than dedication and a healthy respect for one’s intelligence.
Professionally, Charlie has worked in architectural design/build and education, before starting his sailing company, Island Sailing Adventures. Currently, Charlie works freelance as a copywriter and content developer/designer.
Mr. Meaniepants
This is my blog and my personal intellectual property. I spend a significant amount of my time writing. I do it because I have to and sure, I’d love to be paid for it. At the very least I do demand credit for my work.
There is a really bad rash of content scrapers egregiously stealing work and re-purposing it without giving credit. I have harsher words, but let’s just say that’s pretty lame. If you’d like to use my work, please just ask me. I’ll probably agree.
